Dynamo Youth Theatre is excited to announce the launch of Dynamites a new group for 7–11 year olds
Dynamites is an explosive drama group for 7-11 year olds, the junior section of the well established Havant Dynamo Youth Theatre. Dynamites will be offering the chance for young people to have fun, build confidence, self esteem and to participate in drama games, workshops and performance-based shows.
This new Group will be led by Ryan Rock with support from experienced volunteers and will meet in The Pallant, Havant from 4.30 – 6.00pm every Monday night from January 2024. As an ex-member of Dynamo Youth Theatre, Ryan is excited to bring the skills and values he learnt to Dynamites. Ryan who is currently studying primary education is looking forward to helping children discover their own creativity and enthusiasm for the arts.
The introductory session for Dynamites will take place on Monday 8th January 2024 at The Pallant, Havant at 4.30pm after which applications for membership for Dynamites will apply at a cost of £15 a month. Some underprivileged schoolchildren are taken on a day’s outing by their teachers. The children boisterously rampage through a roadside cafe, a zoo, a castle and a beach. A joyous and humorous celebration of the joys and agonies of growing up, but also a sharp pointer to their depressing present and empty future, for a simple day out is as much as these unlucky children can expect. Our Day Out, by Willy Russell, is now studied as a GCSE text.
This amateur production of Our Day Out is presented by arrangement with Concord Theatricals Ltd. concordtheatricals.co.uk
We told you we’d be back soon! And the show will go on! Following the postponement due to Covid outbreak during the pre-production of Oliver! that was due to be performed in January, we are happy to announce that the production is going ahead on Wednesday 6th of April to Saturday, the 9th of April 2022 7:30pm, plus a Saturday matinee at 2:30pm
We have kept the set and props and everyone has remembered the songs and their lines (we hope!)
We have had to move the location of the performance so it won’t be in The Pallant Centre hall this time, but in St. Faith’s Church, Havant (with raised seating!). Please note there will be limited toilets available at this venue though.
It is with regret that unfortunately Dynamo Youth Theatre has had a covid outbreak during the pre-production of Oliver!
Therefore, the show is going to have to be postponed until the near future.
As we are currently looking at alternative dates for this production, your tickets will be validfor this future production date. However, if you require a refund, please email email@example.com

This uproarious comedy sees the intrepid ladies of F.A.H.E.T.G.D.S. and some of their male friends, embark on a startlingly original production of Macbeth, which they hope will get them to the local drama festival finals. But under the watchful eye of adjudicator George Peach, events inevitably conspire against them!
This year the Dynamo Liz Goodbody Shield is a film challenge. The directors we tasked with producing An eight minute film With the theme “A question asked”. They needed to write shoot and direct the movie that also had to feature a guest star.
We would like to take this opportunity to express our thanks for your support in the group over the past year. Life during Covid-19 has presented many challenges for all. During this time we’ve been given the unique opportunity to think out of the box on ways to go forward with the group. During the lockdown periods we’ve been able to continue meeting with members via Zoom. This has not always been ideal but it’s given us the opportunity to create in ways that we’ve never been able to before. Members were able to work together to write their own Radio show. When we were lucky enough to return to live meetings members were able to record their work. We were very impressed with the members. Currently, we’ve been able to work in small groups with the direction of our current Year 13s to write and direct their Shield pieces. The members of the group have really impressed us with their dedication and commitment to Dynamo.
We are excited to share with you our current Roadmap to return to Dynamo. As we’ve seen over the past year, dates and timings can change at a moment’s notice. However, we are optimistic that going forward we’ll be able to go ahead with some exciting events we have planned. Please save these dates.
19 April: Live sessions resume with limited numbers of 15 per session 21 June: Return to full sessions with all members 28 June: Dress to Impress Shield Presentation 4 July: 6th Form Fundraiser 10 July: Recruitment Funday 11 July: Presentation Event for Family and Friends of the Company
More details about the above events will be given as soon as possible. We are so incredibly grateful to have your dedication and support to the group.
As from today 5th November we are unfortunately back to zoom sessions.
Unlike the original lockdown, the zoom sessions will only be for your bubble, and will follow the sessions pattern.
Check the DYT Calendar for confirmation of your session day. Mary has emailed out links to parents for all sessions covering the anticipated lockdown period. If you’ve not received your email please let me know
