While King Charles was celebrating his Coronation, nearly 250 people attended Celebrate!, the Dynamo Youth Theatre 40th Anniversary celebrations at The Gaiety in Southsea. The current Members performed excerpts from shows previously performed by the company over the four decades and several times they had ex Members on their feet joining in with words and moves.
The evening was ‘hosted’ by five ex Members – Alex Booth, Max Short, Callum West, Callum Cairns and Ryan Rock who introduced the acts and kept the evening flowing with anecdotes from past Members both in person and on screen.
Ex Members Ryan Crellin Simpson, Abi Jeffery, Jay Jupe, Alice Mayhead, Charlie Palmer, Matt Sackman and Jennie Wade gave everyone a treat by reprising songs they had performed during their time at Dynamo. There were many tributes to Andrew Bowker during the evening from past members and volunteers and a presentation was made on behalf of the Trustees to show their appreciation of the work Andrew continues to do for the Group.
